On Saturday 10th July 2021, our Pastor, Abby Lintern, was ordained as a fully accredited Baptist Minister at a special service which took place at Crewkerne Baptist Church. Numbers attending were limited due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, but the service was relayed by Zoom to a good number of people who were unable to attend as a result of the restrictions.

Pastor Abby (now Revd. Abby Lintern) has served the church as Minister in Training since September 2018, during which time she has competed her studies and graduated from Bristol Baptist College.

The ordination was led by Revd Nigel Manges, Regional Minister of the South West Baptist Association. Pastor Abby gave her testimony on her call to ministry, and commendations were brought by those who have tested and affirmed this call, including Nicky Buckler representing Abby’s home church, Yeovil Baptist Church, and Revd Dr Tim Welch representing Bristol Baptist College.

Claire Roberts, a friend of Abby’s from Bristol Baptist College, sang a solo during the service.

The speaker was Revd Kay d’Albertanson from The Life Community, Axminster.

Pastor Abby’s service as pastor of our church is coming to an end as she answers the call to become the Minister of Kings Sutton Baptist Church, where she will be taking up the role later this summer.
